The sun was shining on bank holiday Monday! We had a continual stream of people wandering through the gallery during the day, many donating a worthless item to the pile we have amassed now!
We kicked off the music early evening with a stripped down set from two of the band ‘Temposhark’. With a new album being released soon it was great to secure them before they hit the public! Rob Diament’s voice is always perfect and he didn’t disappoint, I personally was approached by people eagerly questioning who this duo were.
To mix things up a bit, we had a stunning set from the World’s number 3 seeded Beatboxer, Reeps 1. 10 minutes of vocal mastery stunned our audience into silence, besides the intermittent sound of a becks being gulped down!
A last minute pull out from Elviin meant we had a slot to fill, with litterally a few hours to go. Amazingly, Slinky Sunbeam and Rob Skipper stepped in with an acoustic version of their band ‘The Musical Differences’. His quirky dance steps matched their captivating charisma, resulting in a fantastic set to end the night.
The vibe was good, and at one point we had a spontaneous guest performance with the band from a friendly little lady named Rosie, reciting a poem she’d written after bumping into slinky earlier that day!
All in all another successful day at the Worthless Gallery. It felt like the crowd had become fresh members of the Pollocks family, sitting dotted around in chairs and on tables in our space. Remember Friday 5th is the last day, come in for good music, intriguing art and some free drinks!
